Grading Policy

  • Letter Grades with point values (shown on the next page) are used to evaluate student’s performance. The grade point average [GPA] reflects the overall student’s average academic achievement.
  • Each course is measured by its credit hours [CR]. Each lecture/theor hour is equivalent to 1 CR and each 3 lab hours = 1 CR. The GPA is computed as follows:  multiply the points of each grade by the credit hours. This will give the total grade points for each course. Adding up the grade points earned in all courses determines the total grade points. The GPA is calculated by dividing the total grade points by the total credits obtained in a certain number of subjects.
