• The goal of the English Language Unit is to improve the students English Language skills to the point where they can function in the English Language speaking world, be it academically at HBCC or professionally in industry.
   

•  As HBCC is a college, the primary focus is on Reading, Writing and Grammar. There is no formal Speaking instruction.  Students are expected to participate in class to improve their oral skills.

All courses in the English Language Unit have a secondary goal which is to develop students’ personal responsibility, time keeping, presentation, accuracy and attention to detail.
