How to Manually Update your Antivirus Definitions

Important Note: Even though you have installed any Antivirus Software on your computer, it is a MUST that you update the Virus Definitions of that Antivirus on  a regular basis. This is because new viruses come up from time to time.

Office Computers

ITU provides the Corporate Antivirus Solution, Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition for all the HBCC computers in offices/labs/academic/administrative buildings. Once you install the Corporate Antivirus Client, the virus definitions gets updated automatically.

If for some reason, the definitions don't get updated automatically, you can still update them manually. Please visit the link below to download the Manual Antivirus Definitions.

Home Computers

For all the home computers, please visit the link below to download and run the Manual Antivirus Definitions. Please be informed that the Manual Antivirus Definitions are for the following versions of Norton Antivirus.

• Norton Antivirus 2000

• Norton Antivirus 2001

• Norton Antivirus 2002

• Norton Antivirus 2003

• Norton Antivirus 2004

• Norton Antivirus 2005

• Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition

If you are using an Antivirus Software other than Norton Antivirus, then the definitions don't work.
