The program is designed to enhance on-the-job performance and
career development by providing the student technician with sound
knowledge of state-of-the-art mechanical devices typically encountered
in industry. This knowledge base includes:

mathematical,
analytical and computational skills
-
knowledge and
principles of thermal systems, hydraulic & pneumatic, and mechanical
equipment.
-
knowledge of
workshop tools & equipment, engineering materials, fabrication and
forming processes
-
skills in reading
and creating engineering drawings, service manuals, and
troubleshooting charts
-
hands-on
abilities dismantle and assemble machine components
All courses are designed to emphasize practical application. Most
courses have laboratory/practical sessions integrated into them to help
students relate theory to practice. Industrial site visits and co-op
training demonstrate subject applications and develop the student's
maturity, hands-on & interpersonal skills, industrial awareness, etc. |
