The development of automated and sophisticated control and process systems has increased the demand for maintenance technicians. Modern Industrial mechanical devices serve as the "muscle" of all automated systems. The increased complexity of modern systems requires new and integrated knowledge and skills to maintain them and troubleshoot problems.

The program is designed to enhance on-the-job performance and career development by providing the student technician with sound knowledge of state-of-the-art mechanical devices typically encountered in industry. This knowledge base includes:

  • mathematical, analytical and computational skills
  • knowledge and principles of thermal systems, hydraulic & pneumatic, and mechanical equipment.
  • knowledge of workshop tools & equipment, engineering materials, fabrication and forming processes
  • skills in reading and creating engineering drawings, service manuals, and troubleshooting charts
  • hands-on abilities dismantle and assemble machine components

All courses are designed to emphasize practical application.
