The Student Affairs Office assists students in planning their entire
educational program.

It keeps a placement file for each student. This file details the
student’s personal, educational, and employment background. It contains
letters of evaluation from lecturers and employers.

It follows up student absence.

It helps students to explore career fields in public agencies and
private companies, and to find an employment after graduation.

It encourages and supports student participation in co-curricular
activities that develop individual and group skills.

It promotes and expands interest in student activities and serves as
an advisory group both to the administration and the student body.

It assists students in certain matters affecting their affairs and
represents their opinions in working with the administration toward the
good of the College.

It coordinates all the entertainment and the social, cultural,
recreational and educational activities of the College.

It discusses student concerns regarding organizations, services and
special needs of students not addressed elsewhere before.

It offers a variety of programs designed to enhance and support the
leadership development of HBCC students.

It works with students to represent HBCC as public relations
officials. Those students give campus tours, greet incoming visitors and
assist with various on-campus and off-campus activities.

It involves students in
the College newspaper and magazine. Students gain practical experience in
writing, editing, layout and design, print shop composition, photography and
other facets of newspaper production.
